On the road in Asia

I’m currently in Hong Kong decompressing from a hellish 14 hour flight that left LAX at 1:50am and got us in at 7am local time. The first day was a blur of exhaustion and basically landing on another planet. To get to our hotel room we took 2 trains from the airport at basically rush hour. It was a sight to behold being thrown into rush hour in a big Chinese train station. The waves of humanity were unreal. No one was talking and all you heard was the white noise of thousands of well dressed business people starting their day. I’ll never forget the sight.

Rain and jet-lag have been our constant enemy but we should be good to go on our last day which is bittersweet. I’m excited to get to Singapore and Bangkok but I could spend a month here and not run out of stuff to photograph without even trying. You’ll be seeing my shots from here on a photo a day for a few weeks to come I’m sure. Hopefully the rain will hold out enough tomorrow for us to get some adventures in and for me to get more photos. If you ever come here don’t stay for less than 5 days is my take-away from this experience. I really hope to come back for longer. Here are the few snapshots I’ve taken so far.

It’s really amazing to be back on the road after so many years. Going to a country where you don’t speak the language is so good for you and broadens your mind in so many different ways it’s hard to explain unless you’ve done it. And if you haven’t I can’t recommend it enough.
