Sleepin’ with da fishes

Raiwin is quite an angry young man. Maybe it was because he was being made to pose for a photo while carrying a fish massage sign by some silly American who was laughing not at him but at the experience, but it was all the same to him. He was angry because his older brothers [...]
I’d rather be in Bangkok

As the year is coming to an end I keep reflecting on my all too short trip to southeast Asia in September. I think the one thing that I loved about that trip above all else is that you are completely anonymous over there. No one knows who you are and no one really cares. [...]
Serenity

Sometimes the available serenity does not meet the requirements of the moment. This is a beautiful statue I found wandering around Bangkok that I completely adored.
Safety First!

Rider in Bangkok with his very excited kid out for an afternoon ride in the insane Bangkok traffic. What you don’t see is his wife hanging on behind him also wearing a helmet. This scene was pretty common in Bangkok though. I wonder if they just treat it as a form of population control?
Keeping cool at the office

The boat driver taking us upriver in Bangkok had this swanky fan going to keep him cool. I don’t think anything short of sitting on a block of ice could keep you cool in that hell weather.
As seen in Bangkok

I wish I knew more about this sign but it was a quick snap out the door of our train when we made a stop somewhere in downtown Bangkok. If you know what it is or can translate the writing please leave a comment. I thought it was super cool so I got the shot [...]
Tuk tuk a go go

A tuk tuk waits outside the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. Those guys are utterly insane and completely annoying. But if you’re looking for a lady they’re the ones to talk to.
Someone to watch over me

A guard stands in the sweltering sun at the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok, Thailand. Jesus pissin’ up a flagpole it was hot out there that day.
Phra Phikhanesawora

In Thailand, Ganesha is worshipped as “PhraPikanet” or “Phra Phikhanesawora” and is worshiped as the deity of good fortune and the remover of obstacles. (source) This particular statue was found at a shrine outside of a giant shopping mall in the middle of Bangkok.
Temple of the Emerald Buddha

The light in Bangkok is just amazing and oh so intense. This temple looks like something out of a Disney World attraction but it’s the real deal.
Jovial River Monks

Saw these guys on another ferry going down river through downtown Bangkok. They looked like they were having a good old time.
